Care Instructions
General Care Instructions
To minimise any scratching or tangling to your jewellery, avoid wearing your jewellery in the bath, shower or swimming pool, the water can cause it to discolour. Store your jewellery away from the sun in a cool, dark place - something airtight is best as it prevents your jewellery from oxidising. Please be careful not to allow perfumes, make-up, body and sun creams touch your pieces as this can cause it to tarnish.
Vase maintenance
Sandstone is a brittle material that must be handled with care.
Each Vase has a smooth Matte finish that provides good UV and moisture resistance, however product is primarily for decorative purposes only and is not water resistant. Avoid use with Water.
Cleaning & Maintaining your jewellery
18k Gold Vermeil Jewellery
Avoid water, products with perfumes, moisturisers, beauty products with toxins and chemicals.
Store your jewellery in the acid free tissue paper, pouch and air tight box.
Sterling silver and gold naturally oxidise with wear and time. To keep your jewellery looking bright, gently wipe down your jewellery with a soft dry chemical free cloth after each use. However, this will not prevent the natural oxidisation process and is not considered a fault. You can always re-plate your sterling silver jewellery to make it look brand new.
Take off when doing any sort of physical activity and when sleeping. Sterling silver is a pliable metal that can be bent easily if not taken care of.
Sometimes the PH levels in your skin can affect the colour of the gold. PH levels vary in individuals. This is not considered a fault of SA Studio products and does not warrant a refund or return. Seek your doctor for advice.
Gold plated Brass & Bronze
Gold Plated Brass is a durable material, but can still scratch or wear through. To prevent damage, we recommend storing your item in a soft cloth pouch away from other products, and avoiding exposure to household chemicals and cleaning products.
The Brass may react with your skin producing a green tinge or discolouration. However, this is non-harmful.
The gold is under-plated with a tin-rhodium alloy to provide strength and durability.
Silver
If your jewellery has been exposed to intense light, perfumes or any other chemicals, you may notice over time the silver may darken slightly. If this does occur, your jewellery can be cleaned using a very soft specialist jewellery cloth. Alternatively silver pieces can be cleaned gently with a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water.
Avoid using ‘dip’ polish or abrasive jewellery cleaners as these contain harsh chemicals and can destroy your jewellery over time. We also do not recommend the use of any jewellery polishing cloths which have been treated with cleaners or polishing agents.
